Fancy Dress Parade 2010

Fancy Dress Winners

The annual Glenavy Fancy Dress parade gathers at the Crumlin Practice Branch Surgery. The judging is by the Lord Mayor of Lisburn who this year is Alderman Paul Porter and we are grateful for the time he spent with us to select the winners, lead the parade through the village and join us afterwards for a barbeque at the Glenaiden Centre. There are three categories receiving prizes and a Master and Miss Glenavy are selected. The prize winners were as follows:

WINNERS OF THE MOST TOPICAL FANCY DRESS 2010
More Cuts Nurse takes first prize An ever topical theme "More Cuts" Nurse was excellently dressed and took first prize in this category.
French footballer
Second prize went to the French Footballer who marked the topical event of FIFA World Cup in South Africa. By this time the French Team had already returned home having finished bottom of their Group with just one point.
2010 saw Cameron and Clegg take power in Westminister but in Glenavy had to settle for third. Can you tell which is which?

Bertie Bassett
Bertie Bassett is an ever popular favourite for all ages and won first prize as the most humerous entry.
The Cat in the Hat has starred in many books and even in films. Now starring in Glenavy Fancy Dress parade.
