The GlenavyDevelopment Partnership (GDP) work with other community groups and with statutory organisations to develop Glenavy. Partnership working helped establish the Streets Ahead project for young people in the area which led to the opening of a drop in centre for young people officially opened in February 2007. The Glenaidan Centre continues to flourish and continues to be run on a partnership basis by committee and by the young people themselves.

The GDP are members of the local inter-agency group which meets regularily with statutory organisations and other groups to discuss issues of interest locally. The inter-agency group has recently produced a local newsletter, supported by Lisburn Council. The purpose of this is to highlight activities and groups within the Glenavy area.
