Glenavy Development Partnership (GDP) is a cross-community voluntary group which operates on a voluntary basis for the benefit of Glenavy. Our motto is "Our community working together"
We work in partnership with others locally, for example by being involved in the establishing of, and continuing support for, the Glenavy Youth Project at the Glenaiden centre.
We host a festival in Glenavy annually with events for all ages including a Fun day, an annual three and four mile fun run and each year we hold a fancy dress parade through the village.
As Christmas approaches we arrange the switching on of the Christmas tree lights and a Christmas Carol service. A social event is held for the elderly early in the new year.
We also work throughout the year to address concerns raised by local people on matters of safety and the environment. See further details of planned events.

The Glenavy Development Partnership runs many activities and events for the youth of Glenavy. Many of these focus around the Glenaidan Youth Centre which has become an established feature in the village since it was officially opened in 2007. The GDP have a Youth Committee to involve young people in activities which matter for them. |
The activities of the Glenavy Development partnership was recognised on 10th February 2010 when Lisburn City Council hosted an event marking the GDP's participation in the Pride of Place awards for 2009.

Our current Chair is Joe Largy. You can contact us by emailing partnership@glenavy.org or through the Glenaiden Centre in Glenavy. Our membership committee are elected each year at our Annual General Meeting, usually held in October each year.
We are grateful to our many funding partners, our various local and statutory partnership organisations and for the support we receive locally from businesses and individuals.
